This project is part of my ongoing exploration of weaving, textile art, and printmaking, rooted in a deep investigation of emergent systems and the complex behaviors that govern the natural world. Through the lens of emergence theory and cellular automata, I seek to uncover the subtle, interdependent patterns that arise from individual components interacting within larger systems. This body of work investigates how natural materials form and leave lasting impressions. Initially using plaster, I evolved my technique to incorporate molding putty, with the goal of preserving elements of the land through art. This approach has expanded to include flowers and plants, allowing me to capture their intricate forms and movements in a tangible, lasting way.

In this specific printmaking project, I focus on the theme of seed dispersal—a measurable and dynamic behavior in nature—to create works that are both scientifically informed and artistically compelling. By capturing the natural flow of seed dispersal across various environments, I use printmaking techniques to create complex, emergent patterns that mirror the unpredictable yet purposeful movement of seeds. Seed dispersal, a vital part of plant reproduction, is both an intricate process and a beautiful manifestation of natural systems. Through this artistic lens, I aim to highlight the elegance and complexity of this behavior and how it shapes ecosystems. The resulting series of prints will showcase the delicate, interwoven patterns and rhythms that emerge from the seed dispersal process. I plan to present these works in future exhibitions, sparking conversations and encouraging others to reflect on the connections between art, science, and the emergent phenomena that surround us. My hope is to inspire a deeper appreciation for the natural world and the intricate systems that drive it. This project represents one facet of my ongoing exploration at the intersection of art and science, and I look forward to continuing to push the boundaries of both fields while sharing my discoveries with a wider audience.
